Let's Talk Tongue Tie: A Comprehensive Course for Doulas

We know how deeply you care about the parents you guide through the birth process. As you thoughtfully bring new life into the world, there are so many questions they will have about giving their baby the best life possible. Among their concerns will certainly be feeding. That’s where tethered oral tissue (TOTs) comes in.

Through this course, you will be able to confidently educate your parents on the definition, effects, and impacts of tethered oral tissue, as well as red flags to look for in their baby. You will gain training to informally evaluate the different types of oral ties and how to treat them. You’ll become well versed in the questions parents have about the effects of releasing the tie versus keeping it – and so much more.

The course will be conducted live by Rachael Rose, a speech and feeding therapist with over 20 years of experience diagnosing and treating children with TOTs. She will gently take you through each phase of the process, taking questions along the way and answering your nuanced concerns.

This course is tailor made for doulas who are brand new to the world of TOTs and who are ready to take their roles to the next step. Included in the course is your own TABBY Tongue Assessment tool. The TABBY is a clear and simple evaluation tool of the severity of tongue-tie. An invaluable reference as you take your knowledge into real life conversations with your clients.
